Dear Parents / Carers,

On May 25th 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation came into effect across the EU. It is a law to ensure all data held and processed by organisations within the EU / UK is secure and processed lawfully.

Public organisations including schools are required to comply with GDPR. At Chapel Green School  we continually work to improve our data processing and security measures.

• The appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO) is Dylan Yates

Work of the DPO includes:

• Developing and supporting staff to follow policies and procedures 
• Providing training for school staff 
• Overseeing data security, maintaining records of any breaches and liaising with those who a breach may effect
• Reporting any breach to the authorities in line with ICO guidance

We are working on our practice to ensure that GDPR  is central to our day-to-day culture. We already highly value and protect all of our pupil, parent and staff data and are continuing to do so.

As a parent/carer you will receive an annual letter from us regarding data associated with yourself and your child. Please do read and send back everything you receive.
